Time to sign up for the January 2016 NSSF Rimfire event.  The gate will be open at approximately 7:30 and registration will be from 8:00-8:30 with the shooter's meeting and match to follow in short order. More info

Be sure to sign in and pay using the Practiscore link above.  Late entries on match day pay the normal rate plus a 10 dollar penalty

A reminder to all that annual membership renewals are due prior to the match in order to use member discount match fee of $15. There is an option on the match sign-up page that allows for payment of both membership dues and the match fee. That is contingent upon the shooter bringing COMPLETED application and release forms to the match. Failure to do so will result in a refund of monies beyond the $25 non-member match fee that you will be charged..

Check back here Satuday after 12 noon, as match cancelation due to weather is always possible.

Think about signing up a friend and helping us grow the sport!  New shooters are always welcome.

Rimfire forecast

Rimfire update.   The forecast says rain all day Friday and part of Saturday. Sunday supposed to be cloudy with a few showers possible.

We have 13 people registered for Sunday's rimfire match,  11  of whom have paid and squadded. I plan to drive down Saturday late morning to check the range conditions and take pictures. I will make my match announcement regarding the status shortly thereafter. As long as we have enough room  between puddles  on two bays to set up targets and tables, we're going to have a match!

Feel safe registering, as the NVSA has changed it's weather cancellation policy.  If I have to cancel the match because of poor range conditions, all registered shooters will be rolled over to the following month's match. That way, people don't have to re-apply, get approved  and re-squad. Of course, if you can't shoot that match, You can still withdraw and get a full refund on your credit card.

Match Status is GO!

Charlie Severance was kind enough to check out the range conditions, saving me the drive from Chico.  Thanks Charlie!  As the picture below shows, bay one is almost entirely covered by a huge puddle, but bays 2 and 3 have plenty of room to shoot our match. We will just have to use bays 2 and 3.  It will work out fine.

We may have a few sprinkles, but not more than that (if current forecasts are reliable).  I plan to wear layers and will throw in a rain jacket, just in case.  Boots are not a bad idea either.

See you there.  It should be a fun match.

Great match and the weather

Great match and the weather was perfect - cloudy turning to sun w/ no sprinkles.  The huge puddle pictured above subsided about 50% by match start   We were able to easily use bay one and three as usual.

Congrats to match Champion Russ Holetz!
